Champneys the home of JUMPGA

There is no English country mansion with a history richer than the health spa empire Champneys in Tring. Britain’s best-known spa that has over the years hosted British royalty and Celebrities alike.

Now it is home to JUMPGA a hybrid exercise programme combining Plyometrics (Jump Training) with Yoga Flow: an easy way to get fit.  The adaptable cardio movements can be either High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) or Low Intensity Interval Training (LIIT), followed by a toning series of Yoga moves. ‘Namastè’ to that.

If you are looking to build up your fitness or haven’t exercised in a while, JUMPGA is a great way to do this. Because it places minimal stress on your body, so you can complete the session several times per week at home. You will experience the power and stamina that comes from fitness component but also the sense of focus, calm and flexibility from yoga postures: without losing anything from either regime.

Where is JUMPGA from?
JUMPGA Creator and Yoga Guru Wayne Lèal believes that bringing his holistic approach to a low-impact fitness regime will make you take stock of your workout and your state of mind. He is a trained yoga, fitness, jumping, martial arts and boxing enthusiast who started combining elements of these exercises into his training sessions 10 years ago because of previous injuries and impending hip surgery.

Why is it better than one exercise?
Rebounding significantly limits the pressure on the joints by up to 85% and is particularly good for balance and cardio fitness, as well as strengthening your stabilising muscles.

Yoga is the perfect complement to rebounding, with its emphasis placed on breath awareness, while increasing flexibility, focus, and imparting a sense of serenity. Wayne claims; “JUMPGA manages to ‘marry’ both of these disciplines without the risk of strain that beginners to exercise may experience. It can also rejuvenate your body and act as a stress-release valve in every session.”

Who is it most suitable for?
It is for everyone; the great news for calorie counters is that rebounding puts the numbers on your side. If you weigh 75 kilos and go for a 30-minute jog, the energy you expend will be equal to about 175 calories. The same time spent doing JUMPGA cardio burns 205 calories and it’s more fun!
